Nov. 6th Revision Build


This will be the last revision build before the Enhanced Combat Demo is released. I've made a number of tweaks and fixes that I feel have put this demo in a good place, and at this point, I can't move on without making new assets, which will take some time. Expect a new build in 2 weeks or so!

New Features

Multiple new enemies and a wave spawning system to better represent gameplay.

Prototype player and enemy HUDs.

Additional options/animations for the scene.

Various visual enhancements.

Secondary spell effects and mechanics.

Improved/alternate Title Art.


Potentially in the next build (not 100% certain!):

A miniboss/miniboss encounter.

Multiple Combat Rooms.

Positional Audio properly implemented.

Music?

A mini-scene/animation to show off the kind of thing you can collect in the game.

Nov 6th Changelog:

Enemies will now indicate when they have chosen an attack and what attack it will be.

Updated Background and Foreground visuals for the Combat Demo Room and the Scene. 

Fixed an issue where the foreground layer from the Combat Demo was visible during the Scene.

Fixed an issue where sound effects would warp significantly during longer play sessions.

Added an additional check for 60 FPS to  start up.

Added an FPS counter to the Combat Demo Room; top right, not tied to your player camera. Press 4 to show or hide.

Adjusted vulnerability calculations to boost damage dealt against vulnerable enemies.

Fixed an issue where enemy vulnerability continued to drop in the Vulnerable state.

Updated Title Screen.

Fixed an absolutely bizarre bug where pushing the enter button would cause the game to freak out. I have NO idea why this was even happening, the enter button was not programmed to any kind of input, and I could find no shortcut in Godot that caused this. I removed all unused inputs and then jammed every button on my keyboard to hopefully make sure this doesn't happen again. If you find any buttons that still do this, please let me know!

Additionally, I've added a few screenshots. I wanted to wait until I had some better art in the game for this, and then it slipped my mind. Big thanks to the people who reminded me~ These will be updated every build from now on. I'll also try to get some kind of screenshot for the scene, but I'm very unsure about how far you can push NSFW stuff on your page, and any attempt at censorship kinda ruined the image. 

In any case, that's all for now! I'll be posting before the next build about my intent with the game so there'll be some stuff to read, but otherwise, see you when the Enhanced Combat Demo is complete!
